Let’s Fly!

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

Since I commute in and out of Paddington, I often see this billboard, which is amusingly placed right beside one of the main rail links from London to Heathrow airport:

Since I spotted this I keep meaning to take a picture of it, but I’m usually too frazzled on the morning and evening commutes to remember to do it, or for that matter to remember to bring my camera. But I’ve also been wondering who put it there.

Unfortunately the answer is not that interesting. It turns out to be just some environmental lobby made up of greenpeace and others. I’d hoped it was just some lone nutter who just happened to own that patch of ground or something.

Still, it is pretty funny.

If you are a fan of Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians (whose biggest hit was “What I am”, but she has much better stuff too), you may be interested to know that there is a pile of free songs by her that you can download here: EdieBrickell.com ~ music.

They are very good too!
